Sofiane Boufal

Boufal returned to St Mary’s this season after a year on loan with Celta Vigo and a lot was expected of him.

Saints had struggled to create during the 2018/19 season and it was thought that the Moroccan could come back and provide Ralph Hasenhuttl with his superb skill in the moments when it mattered most.

It can be argued that this has not happened enough though and that Boufal has not taken the chances that have been on offer to him this year.

Despite the 26-year-old never really living up to his reputation on the South Coast, he still retains a decent relationship with the Saints fans and it remains to be seen whether the club will keep him on beyond next year.
