Midfielders

Oriol Romeu, Central-Midfield – 6

Went about his job quietly but effectively as he has done since coming into the team. Could be set for a long stay in the starting line-up with Hojbjerg looking set to leave.

James Ward-Prowse, Central-Midfield – 7

Excellent on the ball and seems to be relishing as captain of the team. However, he did waste an ideal opportunity from the penalty spot.

Stuart Armstrong, Attacking-Midfield – 7

Becoming the creative force in attack for Saints and was especially busy around the penalty area in the first-half.

Nathan Redmond, Attacking-Midfield – 6

He is lost in games at the moment because of wanting to push infield constantly. There’s still time for him to have a big impact in the rest of the season, but Saints need to help add more variety to his game.
