Southampton: Hojbjerg set to undergo Spurs medical ahead of transfer
By Marc Walker
Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will reportedly undergo his medical at Spurs on Monday ahead of his expected transfer to North London.
According to a report from Sky Sports, this key part of the signing process will go ahead tomorrow after a fee was agreed between Spurs and Saints last Thursday.
There are some differences in the fees being quoted in different parts of the media.
Sources close to Saints such as the Daily Echo’s Dan Sheldon and BBC Radio Solent’s Adam Blackmore have mentioned a fee close to the £25m that Saints originally wanted.
However, Sky Sports and sources closer to Spurs talk about a lower £15m with add-ons.
It is possible that both are true but described in a different way.

Saints want their fans to know that they have secured £25m overall for the sale of Hojbjerg to Spurs, but a significant part of that amount could be in add-ons to come after a certain markers are met – i.e games played or European qualification.
Saints will be on the lookout for a replacement for their outgoing former captain, but it appears that they will not be making a move for Schalke 04’s Weston McKennie.
Central-midfield options were already short with just James Ward-Prowse and Oriol Romeu perfect fits for the two central roles in Ralph Hasenhuttl’s 4-2-2-2 system. Will Smallbone and Stuart Armstrong can also play there but have attributes that make them better fits for the two attacking-midfield roles instead.
Mohammed Salisu and Kyle Walker-Peters both look like they will be joining, although Sky Sports include in their report about Hojbjerg’s medical that Saints are yet to agree personal terms with the latter.
Building on the foundations that they already have in place is vital for Saints and will enable Ralph Hasenhuttl to inspire another season of forward progress at St Mary’s.
