Ruben Loftus-Cheek

The Athletic reported recently that Saints were looking to secure Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan.

However, that deal will now not be happening because of the England man’s huge wages.

Chelsea are willing to heavily subsidise any deal, but the Sun confirm that Saints cannot pay the portion of the 24-year-old’s £173k per week wages that they need to get him on a temporary deal.
