Strikers and Substitutes

Che Adams, Striker – 9

A beautiful bit of play to slide Ings in for his first opportunity.  The strength, the hold up, the turn, and the weight of the pass were all spot on. Got his team on the score sheet with a great bit of anticipation. Che was first to react to a Bednarek bounce, displaying a critical sign of development in Adams’ game.  Worked ever so hard for the players around him and is drawing more attention with each passing week.

Danny Ings, Striker – 8

Tried to meg Aaron Ramsdale with his first chance, and missed, but he may have been a step offside had VAR been called upon.  Ings was handed an opportunity on one of the best team plays you will see in the 24th minute, a chance he started defending in his own third.  Going to scratch his head when he looks at the replays as to how he has not scored, but this was a great game to remove some rust with two major fixtures ahead.  Maybe the most surprising is he went the distance, but that is more and more looking like Ralph’s way.

Nathan Redmond, Substitute Attacking-Midfielder – N/A

Handed a little more than 10 minutes to close out the win, entering for a tireless Theo Walcott.  Played a little 1-2 with Romeu and finished despite a push in the back to put the match away.

Dan N’Lundulu, Substitute Striker – N/A

Gave Che Adams a break and sprinted into the match to pressure Ramsdale, winning instant credit from the fans.  Looked very confident and fit right into a side in complete control.

Ibrahima Diallo, Substitute Centre-Midfielder – N/A

Entered late when Romeu ran his course.  It was nice to see him in his natural position and it is possible he features on Wednesday.
