The Curse Strikes Again

It is an old cliché in football that it’s always the former player certain to do your team in. Danny Ings happily lives up to that superstition.

Ings has scored on several occasions against his former employers and this continued in remarkable fashion.

The hosts were quick to gain an early opportunity in Liverpool’s final third, as the travellers conceded a freekick.

While not in shooting range, an expertly placed ball from James Ward Prowse bypasses a horde of players to find Ings in open space. Trent Alexander-Arnold miss judges the flight of the ball and can do nothing as it falls perfectly into the path of the striker.

Without needing to look for goal, the Englishman latches onto the ball with an outstretched leg before brilliantly hooking it in at the far post.

Alison, who is slightly off his line, can only spectate as the ball drops out of the sky and nestles in his net.

The attacker brings up his seventh for the season in sensational style. There is no doubt the number nine is one of the best marksmen in the Premier League today.
