Southampton: Saints striker attracting transfer interest from Spain
By Marc Walker
Southampton striker Dan N’Lundulu is reportedly attracting interest from Spanish La Liga side Real Betis in this transfer window.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, the 21-year-old’s progress has been tracked by Betis and clubs from England and Italy are also keeping an eye on him.
N’Lundulu has broken into the Saints first-team this season and has 28 minutes of Premier League football under his belt so far.
His longest spell on the pitch for the senior team came in his sixth appearance when he played 13 minutes in the 1-0 win over Liverpool last Monday – again putting in an energetic display that showed he deserves more time if given the chance.
With production of youth talent from the Saints academy not being as prolific now as it once was, N’Lundulu is one of the brightest prospects to emerge from the youth ranks in recent times.

29 appearances for Saints’ B team have yielded 12 goals for him and this form has seemingly impressed Ralph Hasenhuttl enough to make him a regular presence in senior matchday squads.
He is yet to have enough time on the pitch to showcase his striking abilities completely but has the height and stature to worry defences when significant game time is given to him.
N’Lundulu signed a two-year contract extension with Saints back in September 2019 and this is due to keep him at the club until June 2022.
The fact that he will be going into his final year of contract at St Mary’s come this June will have some clubs like Real Betis monitoring the situation in a bid to pick up a bargain free transfer.
If N’Lundulu continues to progress in the way he has though, another deal may not be too far away on the South Coast.
According to transfermarkt.com, N’Lundulu can choose to represent DR Congo if future calls from England do not come. He played two games for England Under-16s back in 2014 but is of Congolese descent and could potentially still have a choice to make.
