Ainsley Maitland-Niles arriving

This is by far the most concrete rumour involving incoming players to Saints today.

According to multiple sources including the Athletic, Hampshire Live and BBC Radio Solent’s Adam Blackmore, Saints are among the favourites to sign Maitland-Niles ahead of the deadline.

The Gunners man would be able to cover multiple positions in Ralph Hasenhuttl’s squad, including full-back and central-midfield where there are significant injury problems at the moment.

Leicester City and West Brom are also said to be in the race for the 23-year-old’s signature but both look to be behind Saints in the current outlook.
