Billy Gilmour loan from Chelsea

Via a report from the Daily Mail yesterday, Saints were said to be interested in taking Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour on loan.

Saints have significant injuries in the central-midfield department having seen Ibrahima Diallo and Oriol Romeu limp out of their loss to Aston Villa at the weekend.

However, a follow up report from the Mail today confirms that Gilmour will be staying at Chelsea and will be given a chance to impress new manager Thomas Tuchel.

It remains to be seen whether Saints will be looking to fill their midfield void today, although domestic loan rules may hamper many attempts.
