Southampton make the trip to the Hawthorns on Monday and will be looking to make it three consecutive wins in all competitions when they face West Brom.

A brilliant comeback win against Burnley last weekend saw Saints move onto 36 points and crucially push further away from the relegation zone.

West Brom look to be in real trouble still in 19th and are eight points adrift of 17th-placed Newcastle, but a superb 5-2 win at Chelsea last time out has given some hope of a late turnaround for Sam Allardyce’s side.

Saints claimed a comfortable 2-0 win over the Baggies earlier this season but things are different this time around.

Southampton have full fitness as Walker-Peters comes through

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Ralph Hasenhuttl confirmed that he is likely to have a fully fit squad for Monday despite Kyle Walker-Peters’ leg injury.

The Austrian also spoke about how having a full range of options for selection is helping his team to raise the levels of their training and, therefore, their performances in matches.

With results improving recently as players return, perhaps a strong run of form can be expected in the final stages of this season.

West Brom could be boosted by the return of Dara O’Shea and Conor Gallagher to their matchday squad, but manager Sam Allardyce did confirm that Branislav Ivanovic will be out of action for a long time after picking up a hamstring injury against Chelsea.

Predicted Saints line-up

Fraser Forster; Kyle Walker-Peters, Jan Bednarek, Jannik Vestergaard, Ryan Bertrand; James Ward-Prowse, Ibrahima Diallo; Stuart Armstrong, Theo Walcott; Danny Ings, Nathan Redmond

Other players will be unfortunate to miss out but Hasenhuttl could well name an unchanged side for Monday.

The likes of Nathan Tella, Takumi Minamino and Moussa Djenepo will need to be ready to provide an impact from the bench if needed.
