Strikers and Substitutes

Danny Ings, Striker – 5

Put himself about but he needs to be supplied with the ball around the box – Saints having no shots on target shows that he and his attacking teammates did not create nearly enough.

After his overall impact as a Saints player to date, it would be really sad to see his time at the club dwindling out to a conclusion like this.

Nathan Redmond, Striker – 5

Unfortunate to be taken off just before the hour after taking up some very nice positions and almost creating something for his side early in the second-half.

May be rotated when Saints face Spurs in midweek with Adams, Tella and Walcott as other alternatives.

Che Adams, 1st Substitute – N/A

Will be looking for a start in midweek with Ings and Redmond failing to impact the game at all.

There is no point in him – or any other strikers – being in the team if not clear chances are going to be created.

Theo Walcott, 2nd Substitute – N/A

Not able to get into the game and had just four touches of the ball in 17 minutes on the pitch. Thankfully for him, no other players have pushed ahead of him in the pecking order after this team performance.

Nathan Tella, 3rd Substitute – N/A

Deserved to come on much earlier than he did after seeing his teammates unable to create anything for so long. Should be given more minutes against Spurs.

Mohammed Salisu, 4th Substitute – N/A

One for the future and it is good that Saints have him if Vestergaard’s own future becomes precarious in the coming months.

Next. Saints interested in midfielder Yangel Herrera. dark
