Southampton’s Fantasy Premier League prices have been confirmed ahead of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

Last campaign would have seen Saints players in and out of fantasy teams with their very inconsistent form. Many injuries, a superb start to the season and then a poor middle of the league schedule would have forced some decisions from FPL managers up and down the country.

James Ward-Prowse’s personal displays saw him end as his team’s top points scorer with 156 – a figure that also saw him as the ninth-best performing midfielder in the English top-flight.

Contributions from Danny Ings and Che Adams saw them on 131 and 137 points respectively as the last ball of the campaign was kicked, whilst Stuart Armstrong also weighed in with a healthy 115.

More from Saints Marching

2020/21 was his best season for goal contributions with 15 in all. His ability to deliver set-pieces played a huge part these figures as he recorded eight goals and seven assists in all.

Fitness is also something that has been mightily impressive for Ward-Prowse in the past three seasons. He is the first player to be ever-present in two consecutive Premier League seasons and has played a part in every Saints game since his first start under Ralph Hasenhuttl back in December 2018.

The Saints captain will also be motivated to make a bigger impact and force his way back into the England setup having been dropped for Euro 2020.

One Saints player who may go under the radar is Che Adams. Having struggled at St Mary’s initially, he is now a key player and contributes regularly in attack with goals and assists. He recorded 14 goal contributions during the last campaign.

If strike-partner Danny Ings moves on this summer, Adams’ role in the Saints team will only grow.

Prices will be confirmed for signings that arrive this summer. Saints are said to be close to a deal for Stade Brest full-back Romain Perraud, who bagged three goals and seven assists in France in 2020/21.
