Strikers and Substitutes

Nathan Redmond, Striker – 4

Given another go as a striker here but it is clear he is not able to provide what Saints need right now. If he is to start, play him on the right and get him to play a simple game – drive at the left-back and play crosses in for the likes of Armstrong and Adams to feed off of.

Adam Armstrong, Striker – 6

He is a goalscorer who is waiting to explode for Saints but he is working on scraps. Hasenhuttl and his coaches really need to find the best attacking combinations to create for him.

Ibrahima Diallo, 1st Substitute – 8

His introduction really did spark a change in Saints and it is clear he is an effective midfielder when given a chance. Surely set for an extended run in the team now with Ward-Prowse suspended.

Moussa Djenepo, 2nd Substitute – N/A

Not enough of the ball in after he came on if Saints wanted him to create something. May also benefit from a simplifying of his game like Redmond – beat your man with positive running, then drive a cross into the area.

Moi Elyounoussi, 3rd Substitute – N/A

Just one touch of the ball and three minutes of normal time on the pitch.
