Midfielders

James Ward-Prowse, Centre-Midfielder – 6

His FK service in to the box started well, but his corners clearly missed their marks.  JWP’s best moments were when teammates left him in some tight spots with errant passes and he displayed his skill to keep possession.  Surprisingly didn’t go the 90, but perhaps his fitness was not there after suspension.  Those questioning his reinsertion into the lineup today. are baffling.  He was a total workhorse and professional per usual.

Oriol Romeu, Centre-Midfielder – 7

Took a more attacking role than Ward-Prowse within the pivot.  Sliced Watford apart with a ball to Adam Armstrong which Che did poorly not to finish.  Was way more progressive in his passing and broke lines.  Did not have to do a lot defensively today, but a very sound performance from start to finish.

Nathan Redmond, Attacking-Midfielder – 6

Three early opportunities to pick out a teammate in the box and crossed without looking.  Killed an amazing counter after a press in the 23rd.  This was the theme of the day.  Redmond was progressive, took space, and drove at the Watford defense, however, he should have punished his opponents for the time he was afforded.  He ran through the 94th minute and worked really hard defensively, but it could have been more.

Mohammed Elyounoussi, Attacking-Midfielder – 5

Very quiet first half from the man fresh out of surgery.  Really didn’t contribute and was the first man subbed.  Hard to find a key moment of impact.  Maybe it was the operation, but it is possible we saw his best form this season.
