Southampton addressed their defensive shortcomings in the first two league matches in a surprising way, completing the massive £25 million transfer to bring Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to the St. Mary's Stadium. The decision to bring Ramsdale stems from the fact that 34-year-old star Alex McCarthy was the first choice keeper for the Saints following Gavin Bazunu's long-term injury towards the end of the last season.
