After Leicester City, Southampton will face Premier League Champions Manchester City in a huge away fixture. Pep Guardiola's side are huge favourites to take the three points from this match and then, Southampton will host Everton at the St. Mary's Stadium.
The two sides recently met in the third round of the Carabao Cup where Saints keeper Alex McCarthy gave a match-winning performance making two huge saves alongside saving a penalty in a thrilling 6-5 win for Southampton. Moreover, these two sides faced four consecutive league defeats in the beginning of the new season but unlike Southampton, Everton has started scoring more goals and registered their first Premier League win against Crystal Palace with a comeback 2-1 win.
On top of that, Everton are unbeaten in the previous three matches and held Leicester City and Newcastle United to a draw in both matches. Although Southampton will want to take inspiration from their Carabao Cup win against Sean Dyche's side, Everton will also aim to take some points from the match given their encouraging Premier League form in the recent weeks.
