Will Still referenced Ipswich Town's newboy Azor Matusiwa as an essential player in his Reims tenure, and needs to set up Southampton to tackle Matusiwa's impact.

Ipswich Town is the first wildcard game of the Championship and Will Still needs to assemble his first wildcard eleven. A team so perfect on pitch and on paper that can iron out a second straight three points and race through as the inaugural ones to hold the clear-cut first position, because eight more sides are following us at the moment.

To be honest, Saints fans can create a bunch of random formations and can still base every second player as a match winner.

However, Ipswich Town do have one of their own, whom Southampton fans may be introduced to only tomorrow, but he is an absolute treasure for Will Still in plain sight.

Will Still needs to restrict Azor Matusiwa's influence in midfield

It's Ipswich's summer buy Azor Matusiwa who had Will Still sadly admitting to The Athletic: "Basically, we sold our best player and we’re now looking to find a new balance."

Those showering praises date back to roughly eighteen months ago, when Still's overachieving Reims side had players like Matusiwa and another now-Ipswich Town man Jens Cajuste.

The duo is well fine-tuned with Still's midfield frameworks and can run attacking circles past the Saints. With the issue in mind, the 32-year-old Southampton coach needs to hold a pep talk soon.

Don't take it literally as a Pep Guardiola-esque tactical class but there is room for refinement in cutting down on opposition's attacks and carrying ours. Plus, there is a theme among form deprived teams, they love to revert down to low blocks when they start sensing some points during matchday action.

The host's consistency has plunged in August, and Southampton must start proceedings in the driver's seat instead of letting Ipswich overcome their lowdown.
