Chelsea play deal-breaker for Aaron Ramsdale once again

Aaron Ramsdale's Chelsea links have been put to bed a while ago, but the Blues may indirectly be the deal breakers in the eyes of his rumoured admirers.

At the start of the week, London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea again shed light on their shared transfer bond. Mikel Arteta's men acquired Blues keeper Kepa Arizzabalaga as a reliable number two behind the sticks, a duty which could have been Aaron Ramsdale's today.

Nevertheless, this swoop again showed that Arsenal are open to banking on forgotten Chelsea stars but the same isn't true for the Blues. Else, they wouldn't have blatantly discarded the Ramsdale idea while there was enough time to secure his services for their Club World Cup commitments.

Even now, Ramsdale's name had started getting praise in Turkish circles when Chelsea has again disrupted his plans to a significant extent.

In his own words, journalist Serhan Turk said: "Galatasaray can complete Aaron Ramsdale's transfer immediately if they want. The Yellow-Reds' priority in the goalkeeper transfer is to move on from the players at the top of the list. Currently, the number one candidate is Petrovic."

Ramsdale's transfer faith rests on Russell Martin's shoulders

Well, if you didn't know, Petrovic is Chelsea's returning loanee who once used to assume starting responsibilities in the management of former Saint Mauricio Pochettino. Hence, it's easy to sense that the Blues have sidelined him from their first-team plans and would be happy to cash in on him.

But their joy is Southampton's worry because then the Galatasaray escape route will also slam shut for Ramsdale. Often shot-stopper's take pride in strong Premier League showings against a top-table heavyweight but here, the 27-year-old's hat-trick of victories over Chelsea is strangely coming to haunt him.

From Ramsdale's point of view, Rangers might be his last big hope for reviving his decreasing reputation among the European elites. Let's hope Russell Martin doesn't let him down eventually.
