Danny Rohl has said he’ll decide his future at the end of this season. Thus, Southampton now have only the final three weeks to convince him if they want a transfer march on their competitors.

Like it or not, this Premier League season has been a runaway race lately compared to previous years. With seven matchdays to go, the title race and the relegation battle already feel done and dusted.

But fortunately, the excitement for most of the clubs still feels the same. While top clubs fight for the remaining European spots, relegation clubs like Southampton are deep in managerial chaos.

Yes, in case you don't know, it's not just the Saints, Leicester too have begun a managerial hunt for the upcoming Championship season.

And what makes the tussle even more interesting is that now, both are chasing the most sought-after boss in the Championship, Danny Rohl.

While the Sheffield Wednesday boss has been a long-wanted Saints target, Leicester are among the latest additions in his transfer race. But does that change much? Not really.

In fact, the manager's comments have declared it an open playfield for all, Southampton, Leicester and even Bundesliga suitors RB Leipzig.

Rohl gives a 3-week deadline to Southampton for transfer swoop

Recently, speaking to the Daily Echo, Rohl straightaway clarified his future club rumours, saying: "This is no question mark, my focus at the moment is here. If there comes a moment we can speak about my future, it's after the season."

Notably, what this means is Southampton have the final three weeks of the Championship campaign to convince Rohl.

Now, despite being confirmed to go down, the Saints will technically remain a Premier League club until that deadline. Thus, they need to fork out the complete £4 million fee for Rohl if they want the manager's swoop.

Otherwise, the manager isn’t leaning toward a Saints return, and with suitors like Leipzig circling, he might not get the chance anyway.

Well, the time's ticking out of Southampton's control. If you analyze, this fee definitely makes sense for a boss like Rohl, but again do the Saints think likewise? Let's wait and watch.
