Danny Rohl tipped to do Championship job which no Southampton fan dared thinking

Southampton fans have long grown tired of listening to varied Danny Rohl speculations but this time, the German is being billed for a rivalry related move.

Yesterday, a whole month passed by since the first Championship whistles were blown for this season and for Southampton, the only day they heard winning bells in the league. Besides it, the entire four weeks and counting saw the Saints travelling down the standings to close gap upon teams who face a brisk free-fall to relegation.

If the slumping waves continue at St. Mary's, then we might be sitting around the same tables as Sheffield Wednesday. And not only top-end rivals, but Danny Rohl will also get a chance to join in with laughter at Southampton and to the ones he got rid of quite late in the transfer window.

Understood, the Saints need to be kept on constant watch so they don't falter more, but how long can Rohl preserve his unrelegated coaching charm? That also screams a pertinent thought from the Southampton faithful.

Saints will recall one Portsmouth rumour with Rohl speculations

The reason being that his previous Wednesday chiefs are ahead of only one team, and that lying-behind competitor is craving for Rohl's leadership. In a report from journalist Alan Nixon, the German is viewed as a desperately needed tactical boost at Sheffield United.

There is no changing the stiff point of views on roping in replacements from rival camps, even Southampton caught a wind of that when they had excitement for a Portsmouth cult hero. Hence, thinking of derby transfers is a daring act regardless of how disconnected any set of fanbases feel about other rivalries in town.

Will Rohl also view Sheffield United with the same eyes as he had for the Pompeys due to his Saints connection, let's remain patient for that.
