Derby County opinion is what Saints and Ben Brereton Diaz wanted to listen

Saints will have very less hopes from Ben Brereton Diaz's ongoing loan switch, but a Derby County factor can have the 26-year-old starring over there.

The ongoing seven-day gap from the fifth Championship matchweek is a refreshing time for Southampton loanees to assess the stats game prevailing at the moment. While the likes of Charlie Taylor have less fear factor about his new team's performances, Ben Brereton Diaz has got reasons and excuses to feel uncomfortable.

Beginning from collective ones, his Derby outfit is longing for points on their hands but surprisingly, they have netted a goal more than Southampton.

For someone like the 26-year-old who gets easily pushed away from crowding the box at Saints, it's an inauspicious statistic. But hold on for another unexpected fact lying in Derby's attack.

Their frontmen have bagged fifth goals so far, while Diaz saw a lone Southampton striker bring scoring glory. So, how is the Chilean supposed to compete where the goalscoring bar is set high and above?

Diaz's impressive fitness past can bring him plenty Derby chances

Well, Diaz doesn't need to come in a frightful state at all with a crucial Derby County point raised, that usually works well for him.

While voicing against any Nathan Redmond speculations, their fan pundit Shaun Woodward presented a long-held Derby headache to the Football League World, saying: "But, he's injury prone and he's barely kicked a ball for a year, so is that someone we want to bring in when we've got a lot of players already like him that every time they go down you're praying they get back up?"

Turning or taking Redmond at Derby is none of the Saints business, but fans as well as Diaz can smile knowing that fatigues don't appear next to his name for longer spells.

Clearly, Diaz wanted to hear these favourable takes to then double down on his health and strengths in his new second-division adventure.
