Southampton's ex-interim boss, Ruben Selles, is nearing a sack at Hull City within seven months of his appointment.
It's been mere days since Southampton fans expressed their demands for boss Simon Rusk's dismissal. Having met their objective already, the Saints supporters are firm not to waste time on a major squad exodus awaiting them.
Well, this approach may seem a bit too much for many supporters, but for the St. Mary's faithful, it's not a new thing at all.
This is because the last time Southampton got relegated in 2022/23, they had fired the then interim boss, Ruben Selles, at the end of the season as well. That, too, when he had better results than what for most Saints fans has been a successful Simon Rusk spell this season.
Now, it's been 2 years since Ruben Selles left Southampton's interim role, but strangely, he still shares something with the role. That's because, intriguingly, fate has mapped Selles with the current Saints boss, Rusk's upcoming fortune.
Like Rusk, Selles is also expected to be dismissed from his current Hull City managerial role in the upcoming days, too.
Ex-Saints boss Ruben Selles close to being sacked at Hull City
As per the Daily Echo, after a miserable Championship season, Hull City is tipped to sack Ruben Selles soon. This comes after a stressed six-month spell from the ex-Saint, where he barely managed to keep the club in the Championship, let alone helping their promotion dream.
Naturally, for the Tigers, who had unfortunately missed the playoffs last season, it felt a no-brainer to look past Selles, to return better next season.
That's how, despite contrasting fortunes, both current and the ex-Saints interim managers will leave their roles at the end of this season. Needless to say, now a new era awaits at both the Championship clubs.
Other than this, for Southampton, facing Hull will be like facing any other mid-table Championship side. Against whom, a win must be manageable, if the right manager takes charge at St. Mary's.
