Danny Ings and Stuart Armstrong enjoyed multiple Premier League victories at Southampton but now they both can find themselves lining up together for Wrexham.

In recent memory, James Ward-Prowse winding up his storied St. Mary's stay left every Southampton fan upset. Regardless, his Saints goodbye also meant one thing, crossing paths with another fan favourite Danny Ings at West Ham.

On a positive note, these never imagined before reunions are heartwarming for the fanbase and the Southampton fans are now tipped to become used to it, down the road. And see the whim of fate as Danny Ings is staring at the possibility of sharing the dressing room with another Southampton hero this time around.

A little over a week ago, the 32-year-old forward was the subject of free transfer attention from promotion-boys Wrexham. Well, unless and until the dotted line has been signed among both parties, no transfer can materialize and that's always a recurring fear with pursuing out of contract players.

Ings and Armstrong likely to pounce upon reunion chance

Perhaps, Wrexham too wished to prevent any eleventh hour overtakes in the Ings chase, and thus, tackled the situation by bringing one of his Southampton teammates into the bigger picture.

According to the Sun, that former Saint is Stuart Armstrong who has seen the highs of the Premier League together with the Englishman. Though both of them are coming on the back of an inconsistent campaign, their wealth of experience in English football can't be denied.

And luckily for Wrexham, the usual fitness concerns among ageing players are rare to be a stumbling block in the duo's playing capabilities. Even when they secured their Championship spot, Wrexham weren't touted as a top-table opponent but gradually they are edging closer to fielding a surprise outfit for any second-division side to face.

Will they join forces with multiple former Southampton stars remains a strong possibility, and let's keep an eye on which players they attempt recruiting next.
