Saints academy graduate Luke Shaw feels ready to conclude his European journey as the full-back considers leaving Man United for the Saudi Pro League.

Recently, Saints fans heard of Ryan Bertrand's force-out, and while it pinched them, the full-back's reveal must have made them ponder over the eerily perfect timing. After all, having just endured Schlupp's miss, who was tipped to be Bertrand's successor, the ex-Saint's interview raises questions.

But now we know why, as having begun with Schlupp, the Saints' left-back troubles have snowballed and reached to their best full-back in history, Luke Shaw. And while an ill update was imminent, Shaw's recent decision has shocked the whole of St. Mary's for their former wonderkid.

After a well-deserved 11 years of Man United stay, Shaw can bid farewell to Old Trafford for a Saudi Pro League move.

Shaw's Saudi decision makes perfect sense for his career turmoils

Recently, The Sun confirmed Shaw's transfer stance as the full-back yearns for a career-reviving spell now. Yet, while a number of destinations come exciting for the world-class fullback, Shaw wouldn't want to let go of a hefty Saudi paycheck, having entered his 30s.

Now, undoubtedly, Luke Shaw's call to leave the Red Devils would turn off a lot of Saints fans, but the full-back's path could be his best shot in his messy situation.

That's because, having missed more games than he played in the last few years, with upsets like the Europa hat-trick defeat included in between, Shaw's endurance has been tested time and again. And though his long followers at St. Mary's want to see him compete at the highest level, it may be time that Shaw picks up a challenge that doesn't push him to his limits.

Honestly, it's been quite an emotional summer window for the Saints, where they have seen it all, from losing long-serving players to former Saints who have become top-flight icons, to now witnessing a juxtaposition of the two in Shaw's case. Yet, the sincere hope of St. Mary's would be to see these ex-Saints flourish, no matter where they feature.
