Journalist believes Danny Rohl has a Premier League offer on the table

Premier League outfit Brentford is eyeing former Saints assistant Danny Rohl to aid their new boss in the same deputy coach position.

Many Southampton fans might neglect this fact but the coming season can see no past or present Saints bosses competing in the Premier League. Now, it's new because Mauricio Pochettino oversaw the beginning of Chelsea's top-flight dominance two summers back.

Apart from that the St. Mary's hosted Premier League fixtures in the other twelve seasons since 2012. Thus, this soon-to-be broken streak won't please the fans.

However, there is still a dim ray of hope among the Southampton faithful in the form of Danny Rohl. Obviously, he won't make it to the top-flight stage as soon as the 25/26 campaign if he were to close in on the Leicester City move.

Rohl can mirror Mikel Arteta's assistant coach success

Yet, the German can be handed Premier League responsibilities if he accepts a slight coaching downgrade.

In his own words, Daily Mail journalist Tom Collomosse wrote: "He is also admired by Brentford, potentially to become part of Keith Andrews' coaching staff, but it would be a surprise if Rohl chose to work for a boss with less experience than he has."

Well, the Brentford managerial dugout was also previously vacant for a good while but the eventual outcome did make the Saints slightly upset. Fast forward to now, and Rohl might have to make peace with the understudy role if he longs for his distant Premier League days.

On top of that, elite tacticians like Mikel Arteta and Enzo Maresca climbed the coaching ranks in the English top-flight before becoming the world class managers they are today. Similarly, assuming a bit-part duty for the time being would do wonders for Rohl instead of harming his progress.

Will Rohl view the Brentford approach this way, Let's hope for that.
