Jose Mourinho and Graham Potter are often labelled as the best and the most struggling dugout names by Chelsea fans, but Kyle Walker-Peters is on track to play for the latter while dismissing the former's advances.
Reading through the Southampton exit list a month ago, Southampton fans must've wished that the club should've urged Kyle Walker-Peters to bide some time as a non-contracted player just like Jack Stephens did. Mostly, that leads to good conversations with the coaches about staying put, but the Besiktas saga conveys that nothing can be taken for granted while negotiating with the 28-year-old.
Still, it's not about the magnitude of clubs he's turning down but the managers also, despite boasting a host of flop gaffers in his career portfolio.
Plus, if some Saints can't digest the fact that Jose Mourinho had to take a no from him, then the one whom he could give a thumbs up, will leave the fanbase puzzled. Clearly, it's not meant to disrespect any tactician, but swapping Chelsea's greatest boss for arguably one of their flop ones doesn't make for much good reading.
Walker-Peters risks future judgment if Potter linkup goes wrong
As pointed out by Saints Extra, West Ham are aiming to rescue the fullback from his summer transfer limbo.
It means that Walker-Peters could gear up for Premier League football while listening to Graham Potter's orders from the sidelines.
Now, the ex-Blues man headed Chelsea's first team trainings in the midst of their two glorious eras, two years after their last Champions League triumph and a further two before this summer's Club World Cup crowning moment.
If Southampton fans remember correctly, that Potter-led squad was underperforming for months in front of the English elite, and even his left-back counterpart Marc Cucurella was operating at a massively underperforming level than he does, at present.
Yet, if Walker-Peters is confident about drawing praises from fans and former players in Potter's guidance, then, let's hope he achieves those objectives.
