Southampton head to Millwall today in search of their fifth win in a row and a chance to close the gap on the top six in the Championship.
Saints' victory at home against Leicester at St Mary's on Tuesday lifted them up to 13th in the table, and they are now just three points below Preston North End who are sixth.
However unlikely, if results go their way later today, Eckert's side could even complete a remarkable turnaround and go into the play-off places after being on the verge of a releagation scrap four matches ago.
Southampton's virtuoso is a doubt at Millwall
But Southampton's chances at Millwall today could be adversely affected by the news that Léo Scienza may not feature at the Den.
In yesterday's early morning press conference, Eckert detailed the situation concerning Scienza.
“We do have a question mark behind Leo because he's reported sick this morning. So, he won't be be training today. Obviously, we tried to turn things around, but there's no guarantee for him to be involved tomorrow.“
The situation with Scienza could offer Jay Robinson another great opportunity to feature for the Saints. Having scored at Ipswich Town and Queens Park Rangers, the 18-year-old from West London, has had to be content with minutes off the bench.
Given Southampton's dominance in the matches against Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton, and Leicester, Robinson's recent appearances have been against teams who have retreated behind the ball so it's been difficult to properly rate his performance.
How Robinson could play against Millwall

Today, Robinson may be asked to step up and deputise for the mercurial Brazilian. Scienza has been in blistering form for the Saints, particularly in recent weeks. Against QPR, he scored a world class goal to put his side 2-0 up and at Charlton, he slid Finn Azaz in for Saints' second goal of five.
The task ahead of Robinson is a difficult one. Scienza is one of the key players in attacking transitions, turning defence into attack by running with the ball at pace.
Although Robinson has the ability to do the same job as Scienza, he usually plays a little more conservatively. That changed at Loftus Road, where his long run with the ball ended up with him being presented with a goalscoring chance which he took via a deflection.
He did the same in pre-season against Brighton and Hove Albion, picking the ball up deep and running at the seagulls' defence before scoring.
What is needed from Robinson at the Den today
That positivity will be exactly what is needed today in a team that has made a point of playing at pace on the break.
At just 18-years-of-age, there is plenty of time for Robinson to become a top class footballer and fans have been excited about his inclusion in the team since he did so well at the tail-end of the doomed Premier League season.
Shy but full of ability, it's time for Robinson to step out from behind Léo Scienza's shadow and give Millwall a problem today. Eckert has plenty of faith in the academy graduates and today could be an opportunity for the manager to push Robinson to new heights.
Oriol Romeu could make his second debut for Southampton today. He has been named in the squad for the trip to Millwall and Eckert implied that fans can expect to see the Spaniard on the pitch.
