Trabzonspor boss Faith Tekke hopes for Paul Onuachu's club return, days after their President had backed off from the player's signing.

Days ago, Southampton relieved their asking demands for Paul Onuachu's permanent summer exit. Well, though this cut fee offer was addressed to all the European clubs, Southampton's intent clearly aimed at Super Lig clubs, especially Trabzonspor.

After all, both sportingly and financially, little could have been better than a Paul Onuachu Trabzonspor return for both the striker as well as Southampton.

And lo! Just as expected, Southampton's masterstroke has reignited Trabzonspor's interest in the 30-year-old forward. That too, from a stage where just a few weeks ago, the deal looked off forever.

In case you remember, in May only, Trabzonspor's president Dogan had given up on Onuachu's transfer. But here we are now, with the Black Sea Storm's new boss Faith Tekke hoping to see Onuachu back at the club again.

Faith Tekke's interest in Onuachu must have Southampton excited

As quoted by Fanatik(via Inside Futbol), Tekke admitted: “Regarding Onuachu, he is a player I like, a player Trabzonspor fans like, a player who fits our play style. The president also wants him; I hope it happens.”

Honestly, no doubt Trabzonspor being Onuachu's second home, there's no shortage of his fans there. Yet, the role of Southampton's baity offer for 'Tall Paul' can't be denied.

After all, even though Tekke took charge at Trabzonspor this March only, realizing the availability of a goalscorer like Onuachu at a mere €7- €8m fee is a steal deal for his side any day.

But what's even more interesting? It's President Dogan's completely changed stance on Onuachu's signing.

Well, with almost all the stakeholders involved being excited about the deal, Onuachu's Super Lig return remains a formality now. Yet, one that needs to be fulfilled as soon as possible.

Especially, when unable to even see out his first and last scoring streak at Southampton, time's surely calling for a changed scenery for Paul Onuachu now.
