Southampton edged into the Fourth Round with a less than convincing away win at Doncaster this afternoon.
Tonda Eckert finally made the change that fans have been calling for, switching to four at the back for the first time since taking the top job at the club.
The Head Coach made a raft of changes, as predicted on Saints Marching, and handed newly signed Daniel Peretz his debut between the sticks.
The Saints took a commanding lead into the halftime break after Cameron Bragg, Cameron Archer and Kuryu Matsuki all found the back of the net.
Bragg opened the scoring after Matsuki's effort was well saved, and the ball fell to him ten yards out. The youngster picked his spot and made no mistake.
Cameron Archer extended the lead when his deflected effort from just outside the box dipped over Thimothée Lo-Tutala in the Doncaster goal.
Daniel Peretz saved well from a Jordan Gibson free-kick as the Saints were 2-0 up before Matsuki added the Saints' third.
Half-Time: Doncaster Rovers 0-3 Southampton
Rovers got themselves back into the match early in the second half when Matthew Pearson headed home unchallenged from a Robbie Gotts' corner kick.
With the wind in their sails, Rovers scored their second after 59 minutes. Jordan Gibson found time and space inside the box before hammering the ball low past Peretz.
Tonda Eckert introduced Léo Scienza and Nathan Wood to the action, replacing Jay Robinson and Elias Jelert, respectively.
Further changes saw Ross Stewart and Caspar Jander come on for Archer and Bragg, which steadied the ship for a while. Adam Armstrong came on late for Matsuki.
An outstanding double save by Peretz deep into injury time ensured Southampton's name would go into the draw for round four.
Full-Time: Doncaster Rovers 2-3 Southampton
Player Ratings:
Goalkeeper and Defenders

Daniel Peretz (GK) - 8/10 - Peretz had an excellent debut, making three match-winning saves.
Elias Jelert (RB) - 6/10 - Jelert is making his way back to full match fitness. He had a sound first half before tiring early in the second period.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis (CB) - 6/10 - Clearly prefers to be on the ball rather than defending in a back four. Alongside Quarshie, the defence looked shaky dealing with crosses.
Joshua Quarshie (CB) - 5/10 - A poor performance from Quarshie. He barely got off the ground for Doncaster's opener when he should have been dominant.
Welington (LB) - 7/10 - Good positionally and in transition.

Midfielders
Cameron Bragg (CM) - 8/10 - Scored his first in a Saints shirt and dominated the midfield alongside Downes.
Flynn Downes (CM) - 7/10 - A robust performance. His tackle contributed to Saints' opener.
Attackers

Tom Fellows (AMR) - 6/10 - Once Fellows finds his shooting boots, he will be the complete player.
Kuryu Matsuki (AMC) - 7/10 - Matsuki capped a good performance with an excellent headed goal. His through ball to Fellows in the build-up was sublime.
Jay Robinson (AML) - 5/10 - Lazy in defensive transitions and failed to stop dangerous crosses. The difference between Robinson and Scienza is vast.
Cameron Archer (CF) - 7/10 - Another good performance from Archer. Should have added to his tally when put through by Quarshie in the first half.
Substitutes

Léo Scienza - 7/10
Caspar Jander - 6/10
Ross Stewart - 6/10
Nathan Wood - 6/10
Adam Armstrong - 6/10
