Southampton have faced another defeat in the second Premier League match. After a 1-0 defeat against Newcastle in an away fixture, the Saints started their first home match of the new season aiming to take the three points against Nottingham Forest. Despite having more possession, the Saints had only one attempt on goal as compared to eight from Forest.

Russell Martin's side tried to defend well, however Forest playmaker Morgan Gibbs White scored the only goal of the match, leading to back to back defeats for the Saints in the new Premier League season. Hence, there is a need to sign a new goalkeeper as well as a new centre forward who can score a lot of goals as Southampton aim to avoid relegation this season.

Recently, Southampton were interested in signing Arsenal's second choice goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale on a season long loan transfer to bolster their defence. However, Ramsdale looks determined to compete with David Raya for more playing time at Arsenal. Therefore, according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Southampton have reached an agreement with Feyenoord to sign goalkeeper Justin Bijlow as their new goalkeeper this season. Speaking about Bijlow's signing, Fabrizio Romano said,

"Southampton agree on deal to sign Justin Bijlow as new goalkeeper from Feyenoord.

Club to club verbal agreement in place, final details being sorted then Bijlow will fly for medical tests.

Here we go, soon."

This is a great signing as Bijlow helped Feyenoord win the league title as well and can help Southampton in keeping more clean sheets. Also, the Saints should bring a quality Premier League forward to score more goals alongside Ben Brereton Diaz in the attack.
