Southampton have been one of the most active Premier League teams in the summer transfer window with a number of new signings being made as the Saints prepared for their return to the Premier League. While Russell Martin's side added Yukinari Sugawara, Ben Brereton Diaz and Cameron Archer among other quality players to their squad, several first team stars also departed the club after playing a key role in the Championship last season. One of them is star forward Che Adams, who joined Serie A side Torino on a free transfer this season after helping the Saints achieve promotion to the Premier League by scoring fifteen goals in the Championship last season.
Thus, his departure left a large section of the Southampton fans wondering over his decision to join the Serie A instead of staying at the St. Mary's Stadium. Recently, Adams spoke about joining Torino and also highlighted his time at Southampton, saying,

"In football, you can't actually sit down and think about what you've achieved in your career. That's why I wanted to come out here because I want to look back with no regrets, knowing I've maximized everything I could."

The 28-year-old has adapted well in the Serie A and already has three goals and two assists for his new team, who are currently third in the Serie A with 11 points after five matches. Moreover, Adams is now looking forward to facing Lazio in the sixth matchday aiming to take a win which will put Torino in the first position in the league table. On the other side, Southampton are currently eighteenth in the Premier League and have scored only two goals in their first five league matches, highlighting their struggles in front of goal after Adams's departure.

However, Russell Martin's side need to find a good tactical setup and a well balanced lineup to start taking more points and avoid relegation this season. The Saints will play Bournemouth in the next away fixture and it remains to be seen whether they will make any lineup changes in the attack following their underwhelming finishing display in front of goal against Ipswich Town in the 1-1 draw.
