Jayden Meghoma explains why he left Southampton to join Brentford
"That was an amazing feeling, playing in front of big crowds at Southampton. That was an amazing feeling and experience. I feel like it’s given me the opportunity to come to Brentford and really further my career. I want to be a Premier League football player."
- Jayden Meghoma
Meghoma highlighted his dream to become a Premier League player as one of the big reasons to join Brentford. Further, Southampton have gained promotion to the Premier League, and thus, want to avoid relegation this season. Therefore, the Saints wouldn't try to play a lot of academy players this season as they need to take points in their upcoming matches following their third defeat in the league.
Brentford are one of the most improved teams in the Premier League since they gained promotion in 2021, and have been consistently finishing mid table in the league. Hence, Meghoma decided to join Brentford as they can give him more chances in the first team in the coming seasons.
