Southampton currently have one of the best young talents in the Premier League with promising players such as Tyler Dibling, Sam Amo-Ameyaw and Mateus Fernandes turning heads with their impressive performances this season. On top of that, top talents such as Samuel Edozie and Shea Charles have also been brilliant during their season long loan move at the beginning of the 2024/25 season. Moreover, the Saints also acquired the services of England's U18 star, Noel Buck from Major League Soccer side New England Revolution in this summer transfer window.
However, there have been a few outgoings as well, with Premier League side Brentford completing the signing of young Southampton fullback Jayden Meghoma for a transfer fee of £18 million on the final day of the transfer window. Now, another promising talent has departed the St. Mary's Stadium to join the Premier League Champions. Recently, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City have secured the services of midfield prodigy Harrison Miles from Southampton in a transfer move that includes a significant transfer fee as well as performance related add-ons.

Miles is a 16-year-old box-to-box midfielder who is a deep lying playmaker at the defensive midfield position. Further, Miles also possesses great recovery pace and helps in winning ball possession while defending as well. His performances for the youth teams led him to make his debut for Southampton's U21 team in the 4-2 defeat against Arsenal in the Premier League 2.
Therefore, City's decision to add the talented midfielder to their youth ranks highlights their focus towards developing several young talents at the club. Players like Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho and Cole Palmer are some of the best players to come through the youth ranks at Manchester City and are currently some of the best Premier League stars. Now, Southampton needs to keep their top talents at the club and help them to develop into regular starters for the Saints in the upcoming seasons.
