Russell Martin can make a big lineup change against Manchester United

The international break is about to be over and it's time for the Saints to show how much they have improved from their first three Premier League matches. While a much better defensive performance is expected as compared to the Brentford match, there is a key responsibility on the attack to score goals as well. Currently, the Saints are placed nineteenth in the league table with only one goal scored from three matches, which was scored by new signing Yukinari Sugawara in the last minute when Brentford were comfortably leading 3-0 against Russell Martin's side.
Therefore young stars like Cameron Archer and Mateus Fernandes are highly likely to be started in the Southampton lineup to provide more quality as well as pace to the Saints squad. Now, there could be another change as well with last season's top-scorer Adam Armstrong making way for young forward Sam Amo-Ameyaw in the home fixture against Manchester United. Armstrong was one of the best players for Southampton in the Championship last season and scored 21 goals alongside providing 13 assists for the Saints who successfully achieved promotion to the Premier League.

However, in the three Premier League matches, he has been lacklustre in the attack for Russell Martin's side. Armstrong has attempted only two chances on goal and missed a huge chance against Brentford to level the match at 1-1 early in the second half. Thus, manager Russell Martin needs to make a lineup change in the attack and bring the promising right winger Sam Amo-Ameyaw in the team.
Further, Southampton should change their two striker formation and play a front three of Mateus Fernandes, Cameron Archer and Sam Amo-Ameyaw in this home fixture against Manchester United. The Red Devils concede a lot of goals facing a front three having a great pace and dribbling ability, thus, if the Saints score an early goal, there chances of a taking a win will also increase.
Now it remains to be seen what starting lineup manager Russell Martin plays against Erik Ten Hag's Manchester United.
