Southampton sign Aaron Ramsdale after Bijlow deal off

Recently, Southampton agreed a season long loan transfer move with Dutch side Feyenoord to sign young promising goalkeeper Justin Bijlow. The Saints agreed to sign Bijlow on loan with a buy option for next season based on Bijlow's appearances this season. However, that move has been called off by the two clubs due to medical tests, and Bijlow will stay at Feyenoord this season.
Hence, Russell Martin's side need to bring in a new number one in their squad to perform well and avoid relegation in this Premier League season. The Saints have been considering a move to sign Arsenal second choice goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and now have agreed a £25 million transfer fee to bring him to the St. Mary's Stadium. Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed Ramsdale's transfer to the Saints, saying,

Fee will be £24/25m add-ons included, agreed with Arsenal."
Ramsdale has joined Southampton on a permanent basis for £18 million fixed fee alongside £7 million in performance related add ons in the deal. Signing Ramsdale is a smart addition, who has been brilliant previously for Sheffield United as well as Arsenal in his first two seasons. Now, Ramsdale will get more playing time and will want to take his career back on track after he became the second choice goalkeeper after David Raya last season.
Meanwhile, Southampton have faced back to back defeats in the Premier League and they need to improve their performances in order to avoid getting relegated again, after they achieved promotion to the Premier League last season. Thus, Russell Martin's side need to improve in defence as well as attack and try to take more points throughout the league season. In the third matchday of the Premier League, Southampton will face Brentford with an aim to score their first goal in this Premier League season and take their first points in the league as well.
