Promotion rivals recommended to hire former Saints starlet as new manager

Saints youth starlet Chris Wilder has been advised by Don Goodman to keep an eye on the Leicester City vacancy.

Although Leicester City's previous Championship campaign wasn't level on points with the previous champion Leeds United, Southampton fans will accept that the Foxes poor management calls were the reason for their swift downfall. Better put, they went from an elite coach in Enzo Maresca to now chasing any and all gaffers that come to their mind, including former Saints staff, Danny Rohl.

Now, that's the concern for Southampton because they will have no worries in admitting they aren't on the similar squad level as them.

So, another awful hiring at Leicester might practically confirm the Saints finishing higher than them, once the final standings are out. Otherwise, a reputed leader there can even push Southampton below to battle off competition from the other three playoff-making squads.

Well, that name isn't a playoff specialist like former St. Mary's academy star Phil Parkinson but can still be another boyhood Saint tasked to deliver a blow to Southampton's dreams.

Wilder might plot coaching comeback at Leicester

As quoted by the Football League World, Don Goodman gave his verdict on Chris Wilder potentially assuming Leicester duties saying: "If they start on an even keel then it would be an attractive job, you would suspect the owners are keen to bounce back at the first attempt and in saying all of that, that would mean the name Chris Wilder should be someone that they’d be considering."

Currently, it's unknown whether Wilder is thinking in the same direction. Yet, the fact that his recent employers, Sheffield United preferred a young and ex-Saint over him might motivate him to face-off and have the last laugh over both Selles and Southampton.

Hence, these two months will be crucial for the Saints fanbase because if Wilder doesn't hold a Leicester kit by then, it'll most probably imply he is waiting for some Premier League openings in the new year.
