Saints confident they have found new Steven Davis with eight-figure valuation

Southampton have felt the absence of Steven Davis in their lineup for years, but now their wait is about to be over in the form of an identical youngster.

After two months, the Wrexham fear is finally behind Southampton fans. Like Tyler Dibling was missing from the Saints season teaser, points were invisible too until defenders came in to save the day, and then sweeten before sunset.

But beneath the three points was a hard struggle ahead of the halfway line. Midfielders and fullbacks were throwing away possessions, wrestling with the visitors and overall, doing anything but show the composure bigger teams ooze in any division.

Now, going with the flow is easier said amidst the backdrop of three points, not always. Southampton have a weakness uncovering in the first month, and it's good to see them being aware and on their toes to correct it.

Saints give Spertsyan an identical compliment as Steven Davis

The board is biding their time to decide on Eduard Spertsyan for this same pain point.

In the words of Armenie Football: "It's worth noting that the English club considers Spertsyan a great player. Southampton's coach and sporting director sees him as a player who shapes the system and a true conductor."

Most of the words in the second line are synonymous to former Saints midfield leader Steven Davis. Yes, he is more of an icon at Rangers than here but his knack of organising the midfield shape and turning it into a less predictable passing unit is exceptional.

The Northern Irishman had crossed the age of 25 when he arrived at St. Mary's but Spertsyan is yet to, so, the Saints are in for a younger midfielder in an identical mould as Davis.

Summers keep and going, but let's hope we sing the same praises about Spertsyan.
