Southampton fans must be overjoyed with Leicester City's soon-to-be Sean Dyche announcement, who saw his Everton side narrowly fall short twice in front of the Saints.

Regardless of how much Southampton might be failing in transfer dealings, the fans know that their rivals aren't having an easy window either. Most notably, the Sheffield United roster who are entering a new coaching era and who knows, even Ipswich Town might end up matching their steps.

But that's not the best part because another rival Leicester City's off-season build up had the Saints fearing for a direct promotion miss. And those scenarios weren't wide of the mark as they were constantly speculated to be keeping high hopes for top-notch tacticians like Liam Rosenior.

Already the Foxes have completed back-to-back season doubles over Southampton, and in some humiliating manner as well, thus, a bunch of spot-on recruitments could have sounded game over for the Saints in the two scheduled meetings.

Saints have golden opportunity to end Leicester losing streak

Optimistically, that dominating theme is likely to be absent next season. In fact, the St. Mary's might have a score-fest to celebrate on offer because the gaffer Leicester are about to hire couldn't catch a break from suffering defeats to last season's shambolic Saints unit.

Easy hint, that's Sean Dyche who is set to be unveiled at Leicester City soon, according to a report from the Sun (via Sky Sports).

From Southampton's perspective, it's hard not to remain smiling at this update as every fanbase wishes for a declining competition to push for the league leader's status.

If the season progresses that brilliantly, the better but there shouldn't be rigid demands for a Championship newbie in Will Still to secure the division-crowning moment. Rest, let's see how the whole Championship landscape shapes up by the time Southampton braces themselves for the first matchday's kick-off duties.
