Southampton fans would have been fearing the worst was on the horizon this summer when the revelations of Spygate were revealed.
Indeed, it appeared as if there would be a mass exodus, with it almost a certainty that the likes of Daniel Peretz and Cyle Larin would return to their parent clubs.
In reality, Southampton supporters will be beaming from ear to ear when looking at how confidently their side has bounced back from the brink, with both Peretz and Larin now permanent members of the camp, despite a four-point deduction next to their new club's name to start the fresh Championship season.
The South Coast club are pulling no punches as they immediately gun for promotion again after the late heartbreak of last season, with this potentially only the start of a very productive summer.
Southampton mean business this summer
Dragan Solak has already said this month that the Saints, despite the woes of Spygate, are not 'under pressure' this summer to sell.
That means the likes of Finn Azaz could be staying put, which would've been a pipedream thought when the bad news of Southampton's playoff expulsion was revealed.
They will likely lose one or two players, with both Leo Scienza and Shea Charles routinely talked up as being looked at by a whole boatload of Premier League suitors, but the overriding feeling in the Saints camp is that promotion could be on the cards, irrespective of any background noise.
Already being touted to sign Jofre Carreras and Callum O'Hare, too, to boost the attacking numbers at St. Mary's, it really is full steam ahead behind the scenes.
They aren't the only Championship club who has come out the traps this summer all guns blazing, though, with a potential promotion rival blowing the division away with their ambitious pick-ups.
They aren't the only very ambitious club
Wolverhampton Wanderers were the laughing stock of the Premier League for a lot of last season, culminating in the Old Gold finishing at the very bottom of the division. Southampton know all too well the agony of this lowly feeling.
But, much like the Saints, the Midlands side are very clearly a team on the mend, and they have sealed two new signings this summer already that show they're dead set on an instant return to the top-flight.
Amazingly, Wolves have managed to secure the signatures of both Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez, with Trippier a 54-time England international who played in the Champions League this season just gone for Newcastle United, while his Mexican counterpart returns to Molineux off the back of a nine-goal campaign in the Premier League for Fulham just last season as well.

They are crazy signings for the level, as the Midlands titans go all out to seal promotion back to the big time, without faffing about.
Southampton will hope they can also be in and around the promotion reckoning next season with their own ambition clearly on display, as the Championship is the stage for yet another dramatic campaign when the first ball is kicked in August.
