Wrexham away on Tuesday night is a more significant match in Southampton's season than the FA Cup quarter-final against Arsenal was on Saturday.
Sure, beating the Premier League leaders at St Mary's was fun and a feather in the cap for Tonda Eckert, but ultimately, promotion is the bigger goal this season.
To achieve that, Southampton must start by getting a result at Wrexham tomorrow.
At the time of writing, the Saints are a point behind Phil Parkinson's Welsh outfit, who are in sixth place. Southampton have a game in hand on Wrexham, and victory tomorrow would put the south coast side into a strong position going into the final handful of matches.
How Tonda Eckert has helped his team to regain focus
The Southampton Head Coach, Eckert, has made a point of closing the book on previous matches after the final whistle and immediately shifting the squad's focus to the next game.
“What we've done well internally over the last couple of weeks is prepare for games, making sure we're fully committed for the full 90 minutes,” Eckert explained to the Daily Echo.
“Then we close the book very quickly. Especially in the busy run of fixtures coming up, we could spend time reflecting and debriefing, but once the game is played, it’s done.“
That mentality has stood the Championship's most in-form team in good stead over recent months. The Saints are currently 15 matches unbeaten in all competitions, and have booked a day out at Wembley along the way.
“The way you win games can look different from time to time. Every match writes its own story - you have to be ready to win in different ways.
“To do that, there needs to be something profound within the players, a desire to suffer in moments of the game and grind it out.
“The players are on a mission in that regard, and it’s far from finished. We need to make sure we keep going."
Wrexham away is a difficult test for four reasons
The Saints' boss is under no illusions about how difficult a task it will be for his team to get anything at the STōK Cae Ras (Racecourse Ground) on Tuesday night and admits that he would have liked a little longer to prepare.
“It’s a very tough place to go. They're well organised in their back three and defend excellently when given time to set up.
“They're not easy to break down, and they're quite good themselves once the pitch opens up; they have a lot of crosses.
"We will need to see which strikers they have available, but they're dangerous once the ball goes into the box. They do create a good atmosphere for their home games.
“The stadium is quite different from others in the Championship, and it will be a real challenge for us away from home.”
Southampton might derive some hope from Wrexham's mixed form of late. Having taken just seven points from their last five matches (Saints have racked up 13), the Red Dragons are struggling to hold on to the final play-off spot.
Southampton fans will hope that Saturday night's heroics against Arsenal are forgotten on Tuesday night. Wrexham will be a completely different proposition, and Tonda Eckert's team must be very well prepared.
This Southampton season needs a fairytale ending to match its incredible narrative arc. A win away at 'Disney FC' might just be the plot twist that every good story needs.
