Southampton can seek forgotten Man Utd attacker to replace ex-Man City prodigy

Southampton might add a once Manchester United forward to their roster if former Man City prospect Samuel Edozie wishes for permanent game time elsewhere.

The monthly dose of footballing action might be over, but Southampton fans still have a favourite pastime in the meanwhile. Watching today's Jay Robinson assist on repeat, and actually, Damion Downs might have saved himself from some poor finishing comments because the Saints would never imagine seeing that shrewdly weighted pass going to waste.

Funny, how that makes one wonder whether Southampton have got their left-wing issues sorted without lifting a single bid in the transfer window. And, there might not be a good chunk of the faithful objecting this idea, except for Samuel Edozie and a few transfer enthusiasts.

The former Manchester City wonderboy has done nothing wrong, but it's now difficult to win the hearts of a fanbase that has found a Tyler Dibling-like playmaker on the opposite flank, without selling the actual one.

Now, Edozie is too good to be playing a supporting winger and, consequently, may hand in a permanent transfer request to bring his Saints association to a definite close.

Someone playing a bit reduced role behind Robinson will be needed, and ironically, the Football League World have come up with an ex-Man Utd attacker Largie Ramazani.

Nothing new, he's been previously tipped as one of those forwards who must be on Southampton's watchlist. The one thing Saints must ensure is whether he would be ready to sit out a considerable amount of games on the bench.

So far, he has put his starter ambitions in English football on hold, and it's upto him whether he is okay delaying that even further. Come Ramazani's thumbs up, that can be a win-win else, there could be more candidates being assessed.
