Wolverhampton Wanderers have put in a deal sheet to the Premier League as they complete the signing of Southampton's Adam Armstrong late in the transfer window
According to Sky Sports, Wolves are in the final stages of securing the services of Southampton's top scorer Adam Armstrong.
The transfer window slammed shut at 7 pm, but the Premier League club have announced that they have given themselves an additional two hours to complete the transfer after submitting a deal sheet.
Armstrong's sale should precipitate the announcement of the signing of Canadian international striker, Cyle Larin, in the next few hours.
Wolves have brought genuine Championship quality
The former Blackburn Rovers striker joined Southampton in 2021 but failed to make an impact in the Premier League under Ralph Hasenhüttl. Labelled a good Championship-level striker by many Saints fans, Armstrong had his best season in the 2023/24 season, where he scored 21 times.
Another three in the play-offs earned the Geordie-born striker hero status, and his winning goal in the play-off final against Leeds United will be forever remembered as an iconic moment, particularly among younger Southampton fans.
Rob Edwards has invested the money they received for Jorgen Strand Larsen very wisely this evening. If Wolves are relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, they will have acquired genuine Championship quality in Armstrong.
Cyle Larin completes medical ahead of move
According to DAZN Canada, Cyle Larin has completed his medical ahead of a move to Southampton from RCD Mallorca.
The striker has been on loan at Eredivisie side Feyenoord where he has failed to score in eight matches,
Larin is a tall striker who wins more than his fair share of aerial duels. The 30-year-old Canadian brings others into the game well, and he is in the top 25% of strikers in the Eredivisie for touches, meaning he is involved in games.
Cyle Larin is set to cancel his loan with Feyenoord and join Southampton in the English Championship until the end of the season 👀

Southampton may not have invested in a prolific goalscorer, but they have brought in a player who could contribute significantly in other ways.
