Southampton fans have been hearing about Stoke City's tactician Mark Robins playful opinion but they must pocket their pride and accept the issues even if Robins intentionally meant it.
Straight up admitting, Southampton fans have a range of things putting them off at the moment. So, it's understandable if they don't have other Premier League plans or top-flight games to catch up while the weekend runs out.
But, checking out Russell Martin's newest fumble shouldn't be too much mood deviating, well, sadly it is. Can't believe how, but he has conceded a third draw to somehow lie behind Will Still's Southampton figures while being unbeaten.
Honestly, I am yet to check it but Chris Sutton will be up there scripting more jokes on Martin. And Southampton fans, they can watch those mocking scenes with their heads lowered due to embarrassment.
Then, look at rivals come up and throw sarcasms at Saints, meant as a consolation praise.
Rival tactician hands Saints a reason to peep at questionable roster
Stoke City's tactician Mark Robins delivered a four-letter opinion with Daily Echo quoting him: "They've got good players. I said before the game that the depth of their squad is a joke for the Championship, but I thought we were good value."
Truly, Southampton might win more than fourty league fixtures if they were awarded an extra goal every fixture solely for the bulky roster they have arranged. Unluckily, this logic isn't applied beyond paper and the exact heavy squad becomes feeble if we talk about actual utility players.
Without inflating it, Southampton have an entire lineup of eleven only for defence-oriented names yet goals keep gliding uninterrupted for some errors or the other. In midfield, we have a top 3 division player in Mateus Fernandes but the rest are either away from the picture or constantly appear out of ideas after every while.
The frontmen are in such a paltry form that one can't help but think whether Robins made the joke claim keeping them in mind. However, these form of humiliating words might be needed for Saints to pocket their recent Premier League pride and find answers to the Championship maze, where win is becoming a difficult path to navigate.
