Southampton fans willing to stick with Dragan Solak only on one condition

Fan pundit Martin Sanders insists Southampton must back current owners, Sport Republic, as long as their recent Will Still appointment goes right.

Ever since the intriguing Southampton sale rumour came out last month, a mist of uncertainty beholds St. Mary's. But thankfully, it's an exciting anticipation rather than tension of the club's future.

To say, billionaire Turki Alalshikh's recent Southampton interest has just escalated this situation with the fans already aiming for the Champions League.

But, for all those Saints fans currently vouching for Alalshikh's takeover, didn't the recent Will Still appointment appease you too? And should Alalshikh's rumours turn true, the Englishman's eventual success may all be curtailed due to a complete shift in sporting ambitions.

In fact, at a club like Southampton, there feels a need for better fund utilisation than the funds needed themselves. And finally, when the board is en route to a successful decision with Still's appointment, scrapping them wouldn't make sense.

Saints fans must stick with Sport Republic at least for another year

Interestingly, that's what Fan Pundit Martin Sanders believes too, as he tips Sport Republic's Will Still decision to be a make-or-break one. Unless it doesn't backfire, the Saints must continue with Dragan Solak's ownership according to him.

Recently, speaking to the Football League World, Sanders admitted: "Our owners have taken a huge amount of flack, and rightly so, they’ve got a lot of big decisions wrong. They’re on their final managerial appointment that they have to get right as they’ve overseen two relegations in their tenure."

Touchwood, but this time, Sport Republic feels on the right side of this possibility. Having begun specific reinforcements like Joshua Quarshie that feel necessary to strengthen Still's tactical setup, Johannes Spors and co aren't leaving any stone unturned now.

Otherwise, too, for the chief who began his tenure mid-February, starting with an appointment of trusted Top Flight coach Will Still and adapting to his preferences straight away is remarkable already.

In all, Dragan Solak's Sport Republic has begun the upheaval work at Southampton for which they deserve at least a year more. But if they blow this chance, Saints fans would be right to demand new leadership at the top.
