Southampton trounced QPR 4-1 at St Mary's, lifting the Saints to fifth in the Championship table. Ryan Manning set up two goals against his old club, and Kuryu Matsuki, Cameron Bragg, Keven Schlotterbeck and Welington all got on the scoresheet.
Goalkeeper and Defenders
Daniel Peretz — 6.0/10. A quiet afternoon. He had 41 touches and found a team-mate with 83.8 per cent of his passes. Richard Kone beat him at his near post with a fierce drive in the 68th minute after a pass from Karamoko Dembélé. Steady, nothing more.
James Bree — 7.0/10. Busy on the right. He won four aerial duels, cleared three times and added an interception and a block. His pass accuracy was 81.8 per cent. Played high on the right. 19 of his 59 actions came in the final third.
Jack Stephens — 6.5/10. Calm and tidy. 95.5 per cent passing accuracy across 76 touches. Two interceptions, three clearances and a block rounded off a solid shift on the right of the centre-back pair. Could have got closer to Kone perhaps for the QPR goal.
Keven Schlotterbeck — 8.0/10. Another goal and a rock at the back. He scored in the 66th minute from a Manning corner, and both his shots hit the target. Eighty-one touches were the most in the side, and his pass accuracy was 94.2 per cent. Five clearances, three aerial wins, a tackle, an interception and a block completed the job.
Ryan Manning — 8.5/10. One of the Saints' two standout players. He set up Bragg on 55 minutes, then found Schlotterbeck eleven minutes later. Four key passes tell the story. He also had two shots, one on target, and won two fouls. His heat map ran high and wide on the left, with 25 of his 80 actions in the final third. Pass accuracy was 72.1 per cent.
Midfielders
James Ward-Prowse — 7.0/10. Tidy until his withdrawal on 74 minutes. Controlled passing yielded a passing accuracy of 91.9 per cent. He created a chance and made two interceptions and two clearances. A tackle and a block came too.
Cameron Bragg — 9/10. Goal, grit and control. The 21-year-old scored on 55 minutes from Manning's pass. He made four tackles, more than anyone else in the side, and two interceptions. He passed at 96.9 per cent across 76 touches. Two shots, one on target, and two fouls won. He roamed across all three channels.
Attacking Players
Kuryu Matsuki — 7.5/10. He set the tone with the opener on 11 minutes after missing an easier chance a few minutes earlier. Four shots in total, one on target. He won three fouls and mostly worked the right, where 22 of his 47 actions came in the final third. Matsuki came off on 86 minutes with 76.7 per cent pass accuracy.
Finn Azaz — 7.5/10. Central and creative. Three key passes came from him, plus two shots, one on target. Two tackles too. Pass accuracy was 71.4 per cent over 45 touches, and he lasted the full 90 minutes.
Léo Scienza — 8.0/10. Lively all game. Four shots, one on target, and three successful dribbles. He won three fouls, played a key pass and cleared three times. Most of his touches came on the left, where he stretched QPR's back line. His pass accuracy was 81.5 per cent.
Lewis Dobbin — 6.5/10. Willing, but a little loose. Two shots, one on target. But four unsuccessful touches and 63.6 per cent pass accuracy meant that he put his side under pressure, particularly in the first half as he gave the ball away too often. He was replaced late on.
