Southampton emerge as huge transfer admirers of underperforming signing Ben Brereton Diaz's compatriot Lucas Cepeda.
At a time when a vast majority of the English clubs are identifying their achievable transfer targets, Southampton are learning the side effects of a bunch of subpar buys. In terms of meeting the permanent sale objectives, Trabzonspor are repetitively mocking the Saints for their helpless situation.
If the club even imagines using loan deals to their fullest, there's Ben Brereton Diaz's uninspiring example which again makes Southampton repent their previous summer window deeds.
With these off-field headaches, any other team simply refuses to onboard talented players who fall in the same profile. But again, Southampton are not participating in the English top-flight for a massive reason.
Due to their temptation to keep testing relatively unproven names across English football with a view that they somehow thrive at St. Mary's.
Southampton must think twice before recruiting Lucas Cepeda
According to a recent Fotospor report (via Sport Witness), the Saints are plotting a move for Diaz's national teammate Lucas Cepeda.
Well, Cepeda has delivered on his initial promise so far, but that shouldn't be the sole motive to add him to the attacking ranks. That's because, a more successful name in Championship circles is Diaz whose Southampton shortcomings initially took the most optimistic Saints fans by surprise.
Even, his praiseworthy Sheffield United return was tipped to set the standards of six-month loan moves. Despite that, Diaz and Southampton navigated that timeframe merely empty-handed and with a ton of fresh doubts about the Chilean's awful transfer situation.
Knowing this, it's easy to imagine that Southampton wouldn't feel "what could've been for the better" if they pass upon Cepeda's opportunity. Rest, let's hope the Saints switch to the Championship and Premier League markets to build the core of their new squad.
