Southampton have been teasing something big on social media recently, but journalist Alfie House thinks it's just a new kit launch.

Southampton haven't been too active in the summer transfer window. Unsurprisingly, most of the rumours have revolved around the Saints losing players, which was anticipated before the floodgates opened.

However, part of the narrative about losing players is that players must come in to replace them. This is at least an exciting part about Southampton's summer, which, otherwise, looks bleak.

That said, Southampton have already made one addition this summer, with Joshua Quarshie being brought in from Hoffenheim.

Hopefully, more will follow.

Southampton post cryptic announcement teaser

Recently, Southampton have made some cryptic announcement teasers on their social media. One involved a mystic ball, which revealed a date for this Thursday, 3rd July 2025.

Naturally, fans cannot wait until Thursday and they would ideally like to know now. Such is human nature, this leads to fans drawing their own conclusions and making up realities in their own heads.

Of course, right now is the summer transfer window, and Southampton can only improve from last season. So, could it be? Could the announcement that Southampton have been teasing on their social media account be a new signing?

Probably not, to be honest.

Transfer announcements are rarely planned that far in advance. Particularly in the modern age, with transfers being reported at every stage, clubs don't have the luxury of scheduling out announcements; they happen when they happen.

Alfie House predicts when Southampton will reveal their kit

Instead, local journalist Alfie House has predicted that the date is set for Southampton's new kit launch. While there have been rumoured "leaks" online, fans could be treated to the real deal this week.

I get it, this is hardly as entertaining as a new transfer would be. The reason being, well, Southampton HAVE to have a kit, they can't not have a kit, so what's the big fuss about? A new signing wearing that new kit would be much cooler.

But, it's still exciting. Comparison is the thief of joy, after all.
