It’s been a week of silence from Southampton Football Club since their failed appeal following expulsion from the Championship play-offs.

The last thing the club needed was more private information escaping from inside, but it appears that the Saints' home shirt for the 2026/27 season has been leaked.

The club are caught in a cycle between retro and classic - and next season, the standard red and white stripes are set to return, with a small twist.

Saints home shirt leaked

Website Footy Headlines, notorious for finding leaks of football shirts before advertised and put on sale by football clubs, has leaked Southampton’s 2026/27 home shirt.

The website has produced replicas of the shirt, based on the real product.

It appears the Saints are returning to red and white stripes, this year incorporated with a ‘subtle, tonal pinstripe texture that adds depth to the straightforward design. A black crew collar and matching black sleeve cuffs provide a sharp contrast.’

Some fans hoped to see the traditional red and white stripes featured on both the back and front of the whole of the shirt, but a red panel is designed where each player’s name and numbers will be printed.

It’s the only whisper of information coming from Southampton Football Club in the past days - who would have originally hoped this shirt could be donned in the Premier League next season.

Club looking for kit models

Soon the time will come for the Saints to tease their 2026/27 home shirts to fans - but the club need players to model it first.

Following a disastrous end to their season, the Saints will have some players asking to depart as soon as possible. Some, like Caspar Jander, are already being touted to move elsewhere.

Young winger Sam Edozie has done the opposite. "Next season is a new opportunity. I'll be ready," he promised in an Instagram update. His name is certainly up to model the shirt, ahead of its anticipated release in July.

But before the higher-ups at Southampton ask the club’s fans for more money, they must clear up the damage left behind by Spygate.

A half-hearted statement from CEO Phil Parsons is the only whisper from the boardroom following confirmation that the Saints would not feature in the play-off final.

The season may be over, but before any kit can be released, the club’s future must be made clear.
