Southampton versus Arsenal used to be a regular occurrence in the Premier League.
Indeed, between 2020 and 2025 alone, eight games were played between the South Coast side and the Gunners in the elite division, with Arsenal often coming out on top.
On Easter Saturday, Mikel Arteta's men will also go into the FA Cup Quarter Final showdown between the two, as clear favourites, considering they're at the very top of the Premier League pile, while the Saints reside in the Championship.
Can Southampton upset Arsenal?
Yet, it's the FA Cup after all, with the competition well-known to throw up some major surprises, with League One Port Vale at this stage, having beaten Premier League opposition in Sunderland in the last 16 bracket.
So, Tonda Eckert's men can't be dismissed as a team that will just roll over for the expected outcome to happen, considering the promotion hopefuls are deep in a 14-game unbeaten run.
They will have to channel some heroes of the past, if they are to get the better of the Premier League leaders, with one titan in Eckert's ranks potentially unleashing his inner Jan Bednarek when the 8pm clash kicks off on the weekend.
This Southampton star could unleash his inner Bednarek
While Arsenal did often get the better of the Saints in the Premier League, with their last four meetings seeing the South Coast giants lose two and draw two, it wasn't out of the realms of possibility for Southampton to upset the North London side on occasion.
The last time Southampton beat Arsenal actually fell at St. Mary's in 2022, with loyal club servant Bednarek breaking the deadlock in the 44th minute, to hinder the Gunners' Champions League aspirations, and hand the hosts a determined 1-0 victory.
Hopefully, this is a good omen heading into the FA Cup showdown, with Taylor Harwood-Bellis possibly the star who could channel his inner Bednarek.
After all, Harwood-Bellis isn't far off the Polish defender's entire goal tally for Southampton just this season alone, with his five Championship goals, only six off the current Porto number five's 11 strikes in total on the South Coast.
Two of those goals would fall in the same game back in November, as Eckert and Co. confidently brushed Leicester City aside 3-0, after the former Manchester City youngster broke the deadlock.
It will be a lot trickier for the 24-year-old to show off his prowess in this department against Arsenal, but he could still play a big role in a Cup upset occurring, away from smashing home a winner, by being a warrior at the back, like Bednarek was regularly complimented for being.
The 29-year-old warrior was noted as being both a "perfect role model" and "aggressive" by ex-boss Ralph Hassenhuttl during his 254-game association with the club, which isn't far off all the glowing praise Harwood-Bellis is currently being showered with by Eckert.
Harwood-Bellis has been complimented similarly, having been labelled as the "ultimate professional" by Eckert, as he's bounced back from relegation in style, with the reinvigorated number six averaging 5.9 duels won per Championship clash.
Bednarek suffered with his own peaks and troughs at St. Mary's, but he is fondly remembered to this day for moments such as his Arsenal winner.
Can Harwood-Bellis follow in his footsteps, with another game-clincher four years on?
