Southampton's Brazilian left-winger has been the standout player for the Saints this season and he has quickly become a real fans' favourite among the St Mary's faithful.
The two aspects of Scienza's game terrifying Championship defences
His positivity on the ball and technical dribbling skills have put many a Championship defence on the back foot already this season.
Scienza has the unique ability to find space in transition and attack space. He can go down the side and get a cross in or cut inside and shoot with his right foot. His goals against Queens Park Rangers and Derby County showed just how dangerous the Brazilian can be when he cuts in like that.
The loveable Brazilian has captured the hearts of Southampton fans off the pitch too. His rags-to-riches story has taken him from paying to play to playing in front of a 90,000 sell-out crowd at Wembley today.
Scienza devotes his time to young fans, and he will often stay out after the game to sign autographs and hand over his match shirt. Not only that, Scienza will go above and beyond to spend time with fans and engage with the community.
A predictably humble Scienza interview
Speaking on TNT Sports ahead of the semi-final, Scienza was predictably humble about his ability and the players that he is now being compared to.
“I'm always seeking to get better every day.
“I don't like to compare myself with nobody because everybody has a different history, a different background, a different way of being.
“I just try to be better than I was yesterday. So every day a bit better.
“But of course, when you play against a team like Arsenal against Martinelli, Jesus, and [Dowman]. I see what they did good and see what you can do better. What is your quality that they don't have? And you can bring it on.
“Most of the players that they have, until maybe last season, playing the PlayStation with them, now I had the chance to play against them”
“When I swapped shirts with them, it's just a thing of gratitude for the moment.“
Given Southampton's form and strength in depth, there is no guarantee that Scienza will start against City at Wembley today.
The Saints will need to keep things tight and could try to flood the midfield in an attempt to starve Erling Haaland of chances.
Southampton are rank outsiders to progress to the final on Saturday, 16th May, but anything is possible.
Whatever happens at Wembley today, Scienza will be grateful for the moment when he steps onto the hallowed turf. The Brazilian will also be grateful for the moment he swaps his shirt at the end of the game.
However grateful Scienza feels, Southampton fans are clearly grateful to have the humble Brazilian at their club.
